Arc de Triomphe - too crowded to enjoy

The Arc is beautiful from a distance, but the crowds around the base and even worse if you want to go to the observation level are too much to endure.

Lift was out of action - 284 spiral stairs with no opportunity to rest

At the top of the stairs, the sofa was full of Japanese tourists making strange breathing sounds. A shame the lift was out of action. Not a climb for the faint-hearted.

Very impressive

We always walk from the Louvre to here and it is such a lovely walk through the Tuillerie gardens. The view from the top of the arch is spectacular well worth the climb.

Great Memorial

Enjoyed the memorial which there was more information or pamphlet telling me more about it. I actually did not know the significance of it until later.
